RCPCC’s 3rd Annual 5k

Mark your calendars and get ready to lace up your sneakers!
We are excited to invite you to our 3rd Annual Running for Prevention 5K Family
Walk/Run, taking place on
Saturday, April 25, 2026
Held during National Child Abuse and Neglect Awareness Month, this event is
more than a race—it’s a meaningful community celebration focused on
strengthening families, building resilience, and raising awareness of the
protective factors that help children and families thrive. Together, we come
together to celebrate safe, supportive environments for children and families,
while raising vital funds for prevention-focused programs in our community.
This year, we are proud to partner with the Rutland City Police Department
and the Child First Advocacy Center, highlighting our shared commitment to
protecting children and supporting families.
After the race, runners, walkers, and spectators are invited to enjoy a lively
carnival-style celebration with food trucks, bounce houses, face painting, a DJ,
therapy dogs, dunk tanks, and hands-on exploration of fire trucks, ambulances,
and police vehicles. Community partners dedicated to supporting children and
families will also be on site with interactive tables—plus plenty of fun surprises
for all ages.
Whether you walk, run, cheer, or simply come to celebrate, this is a day for the
whole community. Save the date, spread the word, and get ready to run for
prevention!
