We are seeking nurturing and collaborative Lead Teachers for our Early Childhood Educational Center located in Brandon, VT.

Responsibilities include:

· Coordinating and implementing educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.

· Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.

· Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.

· Work alongside children & families to provide Early Intervention Services and Family Support. This staff member will also coordinate Early Intervention Services and work collaboratively with other service providers within the Rutland area.

· Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.

· Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.

· Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.

· Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.

· Maintain accurate records, forms and files.

· Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

In addition to the educational opportunities for young children in our ECE Programs, RCPCC offers early intervention, family support, and prevention services that help ensure the healthy development and well-being of children, pre-birth to age 5. Our services are available at low or no cost to families.

This opportunity requires a degree in early childhood education, social work or related field.

· Must be willing to successfully complete required and ongoing professional development.

· A minimum of one year of experience working in early childhood education.

· The ideal candidate has strong communication skills (with both children and adults), extraordinary patience (children have Herculean inner strength), and a wellspring of joy (we want you to love what you do and we want our children and families to know it).
